The key Bible passages for this session are:

Genesis 8:22 ‘As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease’

Luke 6:20-21 ‘Looking at his disciples, He said:

“Blessed are you who are poor,
for yours is the kingdom of God.
21 Blessed are you who hunger now,
    for you will be satisfied.
Blessed are you who weep now,
    for you will laugh”.

‘Climate change is not only an environmental issue. Climate change is a poverty issue. It’s a hunger issue. It’s an issue of inequality and injustice. It’s a human issue; and that’s why we care.’

How does Jesus’ teaching from the Sermon on the Mount in Luke 6:20-21 encourage us to do what we can to respond to these issues?
